Slipstream showday event

A couple of days ago, together with the rest of the Slipstream team we hosted a showday. It was part of the local VOKA Open Bedrijvendag. It was a blast! We split up into several teams covering tasks.

We had one team explaining what Slipstream does and how productions are organized. We had a few simulators set up so people could try flying FPV drones for themselves. Then we had another spot set up where people could try to fly a basic quadcopter themselves. And then at good last, Toon and I were hosting the demo zone where we actually flew the real deal FPV drones.

We wanted to give people an idea of the gear we use on a shoot and what we can do with that gear. At least within the confines of that space. It’s not that difficult to navigate a Sub250 or a Cinewhoop but once we got the Cinelifters airborne, things got a bit more tense.

I decided NOT to fly the DJI Inpsire drone. It felt like a bad idea and I stand by that decision 😂

On a couple of occasions, we even had visitors wear a couple of goggles so they could follow our flights along as we did them AROUND THEM! It was immense fun and it was amazing getting a reaction out of people who had no idea of what’s going on during such a flight.

Looking forward to doing this again!

Ronny has always been obsessed by technology, cameras and film-making. So when he finally discovered FPV drones, it was no wonder that he instantly fell in love with it. As a nerd, he quickly learned the ins and outs of how to build and fly these drones. Combined with his inexplicable obsession with camera technology, he had now found an answer to what he wanted to do with his career.
